In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF)
The complete cycle — controlled ovarian stimulation, monitored retrieval, embryology in our own lab, and transfer with sustained luteal support.
Goodwill IVF is the owner-doctor fertility practice of Dr. Mumtaz P M Rehman (MBBS, DGO, DRM Germany) — a unit of Neha Hospital at Kottakkal, an unhurried hour's drive from Calicut. Three decades of reproductive medicine. Care plans written by hand, costed in full.
"There is no template for any couple. Every plan we write is for you, not for the next ten."
Years of practice in fertility, obstetrics and gynaecology — under Dr. Rehman.
9001:2015 certified institute — protocols audited, records traceable.
Reproductive medicine training at Kiel University, Germany (DRM).
Easy monthly instalments at 0% interest — every plan costed in full, in writing.
Goodwill IVF is at Kottakkal — about an hour south-east of Calicut city, along NH-66. Many of our patients are from Kozhikode, Kondotty, Ramanattukara, Feroke and Vatakara. We cluster scans, retrieval and transfer into the fewest possible visits so that travelling here never gets in the way of the cycle.
Plate · The consulting room
Goodwill IVF was born out of a dream of Dr. Mumtaz Rehman — to make affordable, best-in-class infertility care accessible to every family in Malabar, not only to those who could fly to a metro. The clinic opened as a quiet unit of Neha Hospital at Kottakkal, and has stayed quiet on purpose since.
The room is small. The protocols are current — IVF, ICSI, IMSI, TESA, vitrification, operative endoscopy. The day-care theatre is built to the same audited standards as a tertiary hospital. Dr. Rehman reviews every cycle personally; she trained in Reproductive Medicine at Kiel University in Germany and brought those protocols home.
The first IVF babies in three districts of Kerala — Calicut, Alleppey and Kasaragod — were delivered with the help of our Chief Embryologist, Dr. Azif Khan (MCE Melbourne). That history sits beside us every day. So does the responsibility it leaves behind.
From a first diagnostic visit to a multi-cycle ART programme — every plan is written, costed and walked through with both partners. Alternatives are always named.
The complete cycle — controlled ovarian stimulation, monitored retrieval, embryology in our own lab, and transfer with sustained luteal support.
A single, carefully selected sperm placed directly into each egg under the microscope. Used wherever male-factor severity asks for it.
A first, low-intervention step — washed and concentrated sperm placed in the uterus at the optimal hour of ovulation.
Day-care retrieval directly from the testis or epididymis when ejaculate is unavailable. Paired with ICSI.
Vitrification for fertility preservation — for medical reasons, for surplus embryos in a fresh cycle, or for life timing.
A complete diagnostic workup — hormone panel, ovarian-reserve assessment (AMH, AFC), tubal patency, semen analysis, and where indicated, hysteroscopy or laparoscopy.
Diagnostic and operative laparoscopy & hysteroscopy — endometriosis excision, fibroid management, tubal surgery, ovarian-cyst removal. Day-care where possible.
Continuous antenatal care, scans and high-risk obstetrics, with paediatric handover at delivery under Dr. Abdu Rahiman (Director, Neha Hospital).
No two paths are the same — but every path follows roughly this rhythm, and every step is something we walk together.
An unhurried visit with Dr. Rehman. Your story, your history, your questions. The first appointment is never rushed — it sets every plan that follows.
Hormone panel, ovarian-reserve markers (AMH, AFC), tubal patency studies, semen analysis. Same-day reports. Imaging where needed.
A written, costed plan walked through with both partners. Alternatives named. EMI options at 0% interest. The lowest-intervention path that still works is the one we begin with.
Whether IUI, IVF, ICSI or a day-care laparoscopy — visits clustered for out-of-town families. Dr. Rehman supervises every cycle personally.
First-trimester scanning here. Then either continued shared-care through delivery, or warm handover to your chosen obstetrician with full records.
Newborn care with Dr. Abdu Rahiman, our paediatrics specialist. A six-week visit. Sometimes a photograph for the wall. Sometimes a conversation about the next one.

A small selection. Names abbreviated, quotes shared with continued permission. Newer Calicut-area stories pending written consent.
We came from Calicut having tried two cycles elsewhere. Dr. Rehman walked us through every option, without hurry, before we agreed on a plan. Our son is six months old.
The drive from Vatakara felt long the first time. By the third visit it felt like the only place we were going to be honest about all this. They held the whole road with us.
"After sixteen years of waiting, my dream came true at Goodwill IVF. A thousand thanks to the doctor and the staff."
What I will remember is that she sat down for an hour when our first cycle failed and explained, without hurry, every reason it might have. The honesty was its own kindness.
If your question isn't here, it deserves a longer reply than a webpage. Please call us — or book a first visit and we will spend the time.
Most of our patients come from Kozhikode, Kondotty, Ramanattukara, Feroke and Vatakara — Kottakkal is about 40 km / 60 minutes along NH-66. We cluster scans, retrieval and transfer into the fewest possible visits, and offer same-day reports so you don't make extra trips. A first consultation is the right place to decide whether the drive makes sense for your situation.
From the first day of stimulation to the pregnancy test is about four to six weeks. Add two to three weeks before that for the planning visit and any baseline scans. We do not rush the preparation phase — it is the part of the cycle that most affects the outcome.
Success in IVF is meaningfully different for every couple — age, ovarian reserve, cause of infertility, sperm parameters and uterine factors all reset the number. Dr. Rehman will walk you through realistic per-cycle and cumulative odds for your specific situation during the planning visit. We prefer that conversation to a single headline number that hides more than it explains.
Costs vary by treatment — IUI is the most affordable, IVF with ICSI sits in the middle, donor and surrogacy programmes are the most involved. We offer easy monthly instalments at 0% interest, and hand you a fully itemised, written estimate at your planning visit. No hidden additions later.
Bring any prior reports — semen analyses, hormone tests, scans, prescriptions, operation notes. If your menstrual cycle is regular, we don't need a particular day; if it is irregular, please mention this when booking. Come together if possible. We meet both partners on the first visit.
Yes. The clinic is owner-doctor led by design. Every consultation, every retrieval, every transfer is performed and supervised by Dr. Rehman personally, with Dr. Azif Khan running the embryology lab.
We sit down afterwards — not on the phone, in person — and review every step honestly. Sometimes the answer is to adjust the protocol and try again; sometimes it is to investigate further; sometimes it is to consider a different pathway altogether. The next step is always a shared decision.
